As the Information Technology Enabled Services ¡V ITES ¡V industry is increasingly being outsourced to non-English speaking destinations, the need for good English language communication skills is acute. At present the single biggest problem to industry growth in this area is English language communication skills.
The applied linguistic research that has started in this industry is fascinating and the potential is enormous. At present, a number of research bids have been submitted to look at issues of language assessment, curriculum development, corpus building and quality measurement in this industry.
Specifically, TAW conference addresses the following language issues which are critical for ensuring appropriate English language skills in non-English speaking countries:

What is an industry language audit?
- How do we measure English language skill levels accurately for recruitment and training needs?
- How do we make English language training relevant for companies and participants in the call centre and ITES industries?
- What is the value of English language communication for a company?
- What are the issues in developing quality scorecards that reflect quality targets, communication needs and training agendas?
We are keen to invite academics who have been working in this area or a related area to submit a paper for this conference.
